The big little world

Birds and large mammals are well known to everyone. However, the greatest species diversity consists of organisms smaller than five centimeters. Species that, if you are not consciously looking for them, remain under the radar. There really is still a lot to discover in this big world of tiny creatures!

Vlinders zijn sowieso al een kleurrijke verschijning. Om de aandacht volledig naar de vlinder toe te trekken hou ik er van om minimalistische beelden met een witte achtergrond te maken.

In de toekomst hoop ik nog wantsen, kevers, libellen en ander moois op deze manier te fotograferen.

Butterflies are already a colorful sight anyway. To draw the attention completely to the butterfly I like to make minimalist photographs with a white background.

In the future I hope to photograph bugs, beetles, dragonflies, and other beautiful things with this technique.

Kleurenrijk / The empire of colors

Langs de andere kant is het ook een ongelofelijk leuke uitdaging om alle kleuren in de natuur de in harmonie te laten samenkomen in één foto. Het hoeft niet altijd minimalistisch te zijn...

At the other side it is also an interesting challenge to make the colors in nature come together in a photo. It doesn’t need to be necessarily minimalistic…

Alien vibes

Wanneer ik insecten fotografeer beginnen ze in mijn hoofd altijd een eigen leven te leiden. Hoe zou het zijn voor zo'n klein vliegje als je zo'n juffer ziet komen aanvliegen? Eigenlijk zijn het een soort van aliens, toch?
